The latest cakes were lemon filled and chocolate filled yellow cakes with creamy white frosting. The yellow cake had added lemon zest and each round was split in half to be filled.
The Lemon filled was frosted and coated with coconut powder.

The Chocolate filling is a Chantilly chocolate as described by Hervé This. It’s decorated with a bit of cocoa and some chocolate shavings.

I’m thinking of starting something here about food- at least with cakes, maybe baking in general, maybe more.
I hope to spend more time on baking in the future, to try out some different kinds of cakes and frostings as well as different decorating techniques. Maybe I’ll even get around to taking a class.
For now, these are the more interesting cakes I’ve done in the last few years. So far, they are a bit trial-and-error, but that’s a good way to learn.
